For the academic year 2024-25 Universal Free School Meals have been extended for all children from Reception to Year 6.

Packed Lunch

If your child brings a packed lunch to eat in school, it should be a balanced lunch. Ideas of what can be provided include:

  • Starchy foods:  These are bread, rice, potatoes, pasta and others
  • Protein foods:  These are meat, fish, eggs, beans and others
  • Dairy:  This could be cheese or a yoghurt
  • Vegetables , salad and a portion of fruit.

Please ensure that nuts, chocolate or fizzy drinks arnot included in your child’s lunch. These include nut based products such as nutella.

Free School Meals

Families who receive certain benefits may be eligible for free school meals. Your child is eligible for free school meals if you are in receipt of one of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit with an annual net income of no more than £7,400
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Support under Part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

Registration for free meals could also raise an extra £1,320 for our school to fund extra support and additional staff. This additional money is available from central Government for every child whose parent is receiving one of these benefits listed above.

Once you have registered for Free School Meals, your child is also eligible to receive the following:
